I am in the camp with many that believe the market will continue to feel price pressure, at least until inventory levels begin to return to normal (2019 or early 2020 levels, at least). Why inventory levels matter to appraisers. Inventory levels have an impact on property valuation, at least in the short term.

Especially if they are believed to be indications of major structural problems because this has an impact on value. Cracks develop when stress upon a dwelling exceeds its strength. It is impossible to know the impact on market value until we know if repairs are needed. My new sewer line adds huge value, right?
