1st Quarter of 2023: Lowest Number of Homes Listed in Recorded History

This week we ran a “Homes Listed” Report in MLSPIN which is the Multiple Listing Service in Massachusetts and what we suspected was true. There has never been a first quarter of the year (January, February, March) since at least 1995 that fewer homes have been listed for sale than this year. It’s NOT for a lack of buyers.

This Lamacchia Mid-Year Housing Report presents overall home sale statistics as of the first six months of 2022 compared to the same period last year, January 1 st to June 30 th , 2021. Sales Decrease by 11.3%. Sales decreased in all three categories: -10.2% for singles, -14.7% for condos, -7.5% for multi-families. Prices Increase 11.4%.
