What else is happening in and around your Seattle?

Wine Tasting
Looking for something to do with your spouse/partner or a few friends, then why not take a wine-tasting tour? To enjoy the wine, leave the car behind. Local bus tours take people on a 6- or 8-hour food and drink journey through Woodinville and the city’s many tasting rooms. Sip, nibble, enjoy!  Social distancing may remain in effect – but not socializing!

ZooTunes, July 18-Aug. 25
Woodland Park Zoo welcomes back music fans to the meadow and the 37th annual ZooTunes concert series. This year’s lineup will be curated by independent music station KEXP and focus on local musicians, capped by the Aug. 25 appearance from Polyrhythmics. Learn more about pod seating and other attendance rules.

Asian Art Museum Reopening
Another major sign of our region returning to normal: The opening of our proud museums. The Seattle Asian Art Museum underwent a 3-year major renovation and had only been opened a few short weeks in 2020 when it was shut by the pandemic. SAAM has now been open since late May and is showcasing all of its original collections of historic and contemporary art from China, Japan, Korea, India and other nations from the region. Ticket reservations are required. Friday-Sunday, 10am-5pm

Movies at the Mural – Saturdays, July 31-Aug. 28
One of our city’s great traditions – free movies at Seattle Center – returns after a year off. There is nothing quite like enjoying a family friendly film outdoors. Bring the popcorn or picnic and catch some popular releases on a state-of-the-art, 40-foot screen with the Space Needle as a unique backdrop. Each feature is preceded by a short film by students at Cornish College for the Arts. 9pm

Washington State Fair Concerts, Sept. 3-26
The Washington State Fair isn’t missing a beat. After canceling last year’s event – for the first time since World War II – the fair will produce a full slate of shows starting Sept. 3 with Roger Daltrey (The Who). Amid the usual mix of country stars (Carrie Underwood, Darius Rucker), legacy acts (Beach Boys, Ice Cube) and contemporaries (Bishop Briggs), Seattle rap star Macklemore returns to the grandstand to rock a home state crowd as the fair winds down. Don’t miss out; get your tickets now. Showtimes vary.

Andrea Bocelli, Nov. 3
I had the good fortune to hear Andrea Bocelli in person at the old KeyArena just before it closed for its massive renovation. Now, with a revived and rebranded Climate Pledge Arena, Bocelli returns with his Believe world tour. I highly recommend seeing and hearing the opera tenor perform. Goose bumps are virtually assured if not guaranteed. 7:30pm

Please check with the venue to confirm times and dates of any in-person events.

In case you missed it….

Thanks for all of those who read my Living the Dream blog. Readership has taken even me by surprised. I receive questions and comments from consumers and fellow agents from all over the country about my content. The latest posts include:

The home inspection is without question the most-read topic on my blog. I would estimate all those posts have collectively attracted 50,000+ views in the three years of the blog. Among those popular posts, “Home Inspections: What Buyers Can and Cannot Do” was recently updated to reflect rules changes in Washington state.

I recently published two other buyer-focused posts worth reading: The benefits of owning a city condo as prices ease and a guide for preparing to move into a new home.

Buyers may be looking to live in the heart of Bellevue. And, why not?! The city has a lot to offer, including a pair of high-rise condos that are currently under construction and receiving plenty of attention.

Finally, join me on a tour of the new and improved Seattle Space Needle!

Thanks for reading!
