Who Are You Surrounding Yourself With?

When I was on my quest to learn what I call the “principles of prosperity,” there was one in particular that helped me progress by leaps and bounds when I applied it. You’ve heard me talk about it before; it’s a principle that I am extraordinarily passionate about. The principle is this: success is accelerated when you surround yourself with others. This principle has two meanings: the first is the law of delegation. The second has to do with the effect that the people around you have on you as an individual.

I know so many people that are of the opinion that they just need to do everything themselves. They really don’t think that they can let anyone else do any of their work for them. But I’m here to tell you, that’s not true at all! If you can pay someone else less than your personal hourly rate to do some of the mundane tasks in your office, you will have more time for the most important things. You may even find yourself with extra time in which to take on new clients! Delegation is one of the most important business skills you can learn.

The other part of this principle is summed up nicely by Jim Rohn, who said that you are the sum total of the 5 people who you spend the most time with. Thank about who those people are. It may be a spouse, your kids, a friend or work colleague, or a member of your extended family. This even works virtually through books, podcasts, and other media. Part of being successful is surrounding yourself with great people, either in person or through the means of media. Look at some of the successful people you know or look up to, and then consider who their inner circle is. Most likely, the people that they spend the most time with are also very successful. This principle applies to us, too.

As you try to improve your business, take some time to consider who you’re surrounding yourself with. Are those people good examples of the attributes and characteristics that you want to have? Also take some time to consider whether or not you’re delegating the way you should be. I promise, if you take advantage of the opportunity to delegate and are conscientious about who you give the majority of your time to, your business and your life will be much more successful!

  1. My principle of prosperity is, “Seek the truth”. Be careful paying for advice from someone who doesn’t walk the walk or talk the talk and who ultimately joins hands with an AMC want a be.

    Seek the truth.
