Day In Day Out, Sept. 4-5
Bumbershoot is taking the year off and it its place at Seattle Center is a two-day mini-fest called Day In Day Out. Think a scaled-down Block Party on the lawn around Fischer Plaza, with a variety of top-named acts that feature indie-electronic, synth-pop, hip-hop and more. Capacity will top out at 8,000 people a day, so get your tickets now or wait for Bumbershoot to return next year. 2-10pm

Welcome Back Weeks – Part II, Sept. 4-19
The City of Seattle is planning a series of events to usher back our post-pandemic lifestyle. Events will include large-scale concerts and retail promotions that encourage locals to support small downtown restaurants, bars and other businesses. Learn more.

Puyallup Rodeo, Sept. 9-12
Watch cowboys and cowgirls get down and get dirty in the state’s largest rodeo event of the year. Check out details on events inside the ring as well as the concert venue (The Oak Ridge Boys and others) – all at the Washington State Fair in Puyallup. Times vary.

Seattle Seahawks Regular Season, starting Sept. 12
The pigskin starts to fly again just after Labor Day. That’s the opening week of the NFL season, starting with Dallas playing at defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay on Sept. 9. Our Seahawks begin the campaign at Indianapolis on Sept. 12, followed a week later by their home opener against Tennessee. Tickets. Go Hawks!

Seattle Arts & Lectures, Sept. 14-May 18, 2022
It may say “August” on the calendar, but fall is just around the corner. For many, that means a new season from Seattle Arts & Lectures, and subscriptions have started for anyone to attend the talks – some in-person at Benaroya Hall and all online. Among the notable names this time: Bernardine Evaristo, 2019 Booker Prize winner (Girl, Woman, Other), Jelani Cobb of The New Yorker, and Anthony Doerr, 2015 Pulitzer Prize winner (All the Light We Cannot See). It’s a great opportunity to immerse yourself into insights and revelations. Learn more.

In Case You Missed It…

One of the most controversial topics in residential real estate is whether buyers should share a “love letter” with their offer. My clients have had success by including a letter about how much they want the home but, as I note in my Living the Dream blog, there are risks involved – mostly for the seller.
