LUXURY LIVING

It may be damp and cool outside, but the luxury housing market continues to generate hot listings. Here is a selection of some of my new favorites to hit the market.

Let’s start with a 4-bedroom, 3-bath, 3276 sq. ft., 1-story with a fully finished basement in the Enatai section of West Bellevue. Custom built in 2019, the home features solid cedar siding with no cuts, walls of windows across the open-plan main floor and pocket glass doors leading to the deck. The westerly views showcase our amazing sunsets as well as viewing Mercer Island Days fireworks and Seafair Blue Angels shows. List: $3.795M ($1158/sq. ft.)

If size and opulence matter more than price, then perhaps this 5-bed, 6.75-bath, 13,610 sq. ft., 2-story with basement in Bridle Trails/Bellevue will catch your attention. Oozing European style and substance, this stand-out home starts with a wrought-iron gated entry on 1.25 acres that include tennis and basketball courts. Interiors are elaborate and museum-like, highlighted by imported inlaid wood and tiled floors along with coffered and tray ceilings. Check out the four-seat theater, second kitchen within a massive entertainment space, billiard room, two executive-level offices, six fireplaces and Olympic-caliber indoor pool. It may be over the top … but so what! List: $12.85M ($944/sq. ft.)

Looking for big and affordable (relatively speaking)? This 4-bed, 3.25-bath, 4040 sq. ft., 2-story home with finished basement on the western side of Lake Sammamish in Bellevue is a great option. You’ll love the water and mountain views from the spacious living area, as well as the 50-foot waterfront and boat slip on the doorstep. Plus, there’s about 1000 sq. ft. of unfinished space ready for new ideas. The owners since 2002 are reportedly retiring and moving to the Olympic Peninsula. List: $4.75M ($942/sq. ft.)

High above the busy corner of 4th Avenue and Pike Street you can find a dynamic urban penthouse ready for a new owner. It’s a 1-bed, 1.75-bath, 2551 sq. ft. stately home within the early 20th-century-built Seaboard Building. The ornately designed Seaboard was constructed around 1907 as the Northern Bank and Trust Building and later included the top-floor office for department store baron John Nordstrom. Today, the penthouse features 12-foot ceilings, exposed brick interiors, wide-plank fir flooring recycled from Pioneer Square buildings and a private deck. The home also includes a Murphy bed in one of the open living areas. List: $2.1M ($823/sq. ft.)
