Providing Value to Real Estate Buyers and Sellers

Did you know there are more than 200 actions, research steps, procedures, processes and other stages that a real estate broker typically takes with each buyer or seller? It’s true!

We are your personal representative throughout the process.

There’s a saying that I have used for years: “To be successful, you have to have your heart in your business … and your business in your heart.”

I like to think that I have both running in symmetry when working behind the scenes to make my exchanges with readers, customers and clients informative, helpful and lead to a successful outcome. It’s all about bringing value to everything I do.

But what is value?

I believe it’s the institutional knowledge, skill, care and service that is brought to the table – every single day.

And how do I transfer all those elements into success for my clients? By solving their “pain,” addressing their real estate needs and delivering results.

In fact, I try to get to the core of why a buyer or seller wishes to collaborate with me. I often ask new customers at the beginning, What pain are you hoping to remove? or What problem are we trying to solve?

The answer can be everything from wanting more space in a home, helping coordinate an out-of-state move, or finding a pied-à-terre in the city.

It’s about understanding the client’s motivations and timing – and then delivering results.

In the end, my buyers and sellers derive value from the services I provide them. It’s not just a transaction to me.

As your John L. Scott real estate broker, I take control of many aspects of the buying and selling process on my client’s behalf. I am experienced in offering many key services, among them:

  • Consulting with clients throughout the process
  • Marketing and home-pricing strategy (for sellers)
  • Sourcing home-improvement contractors and real estate specialists, from lenders to attorneys
  • Advising on staging the home and hiring photographers for still images and videos (sellers)
  • Finding and researching the right property (buyers)
  • Being a goodwill ambassador – a person connected to the local market
  • Negotiating the best deal – I, for one, am a Certified Real Estate Negotiator
  • Overseeing the home inspection
  • Helping review and understand the title review, escrow process and mortgage review
  • Ensuring the final steps at closing go smoothly

There are dozens of incremental steps that a buyer and seller must navigate. That’s why it’s important to not just work with an agent, but to partner with a seasoned broker and Realtor®.

If you are buying or selling one of the most expensive items in your lifetime, don’t you want to team with someone with the skills and background of a trusted advisor?
